Here is a sneaky peek of what goes on in my sketchbooks. Starts off as messy nonsense which then grows in various directions until I feel satisfied with the image. This page illustrates some scribbles, a starting point for a poster I was working on....

Meet Baxter the Pitbull
I painted Baxter who belongs to a lovely couple in Tampa, Florida, as a little thank you present. They very kindly put us up for a few nights in their cosy home when we visited in November and made us feel really welcome. They gave us their pick up truck to explore the streets of Tampa along with lots of recommendations of places to check out, this is the first time I had met them, but they were so friendly and damn awesome that it really made my trip.

Thank You note
Thank you to my friends mum, Jenny, for fixing my onesie after tearing the zip with my drunken hands. It is lovely to be able to wear it again.

Morris Minor Traveller
Here is another addition to my cushion collection, an on going project that is slowly growing.
It's based on a very cute 1960's Morris Minor Traveller that a friend had for a while. Sadly, although they had a few successful adventures together he had to part with it so I made him one that he can keep forever, that doesn't require any servicing or road tax and makes a rather nice memento. This is the first occasion that I have hand stitched part of the design rather than drawing it on and I really like the result. I have added a pocket detail with button fastening to allow the stuffing to be removed as the cushion is machine washable inside out. Next I'm planning on having a go at plush toys in quite a similar manner as this.
